Pennsylvania’s new attorney general removed a state website page that criticized pregnancy help centers and encouraged the public to file complaints against them, a change welcomed by pro-life organizations who argue the page promoted misleading narratives and unfairly targeted centers that provide free support and resources to pregnant women.

Pennsylvania pregnancy centers and medical clinics were highlighted at a Day of Advocacy at the State Capitol to showcase how their network of 87 centers provides critical, often free services—like early pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, prenatal education, STI treatment, and postpartum support—to women and families, and to urge lawmakers to support these community-based providers as essential to addressing the state’s maternal health needs.

A report from the Ethics & Public Policy Center claims that real‑world insurance data for 865,727 mifepristone (abortion pill) prescriptions from 2017–2023 shows a higher failure rate and more adverse outcomes than reported in clinical trials, finding that at least **5.26 % of women needed a repeat abortion attempt within 45 days and about 13.51 % experienced either a serious adverse event or repeat attempt, and urges the FDA to reinstate stronger safety protocols, require full side‑effect reporting, and reconsider the drug’s approval based on this data.

Pennsylvania’s decision to shift funding from Real Alternatives to a new state-funded maternal health pilot with UPMC is criticized as inefficient and duplicative, since community-based pregnancy medical clinics and resource centers already provide comprehensive maternal health services at no cost to taxpayers.

Attorney General of New York, Letitia James, has recently targeted pregnancy centers in the Empire State for offering information about the abortion pill reversal (APR) protocol. Despite APR being backed by scientific evidence, James has attempted to silence these pregnancy centers by alleging that promoting APR amounts to providing “false and misleading” information.

We're following key considerations as the Supreme Court determines whether states may prevent people covered by Medicaid from choosing Planned Parenthood as their health care provider. This is closely tied to the Allegheny Reproductive Health Center v. PA Dept of Human Services.
