At 9 weeks this client was hoping to carry her child but when the relationship with the father of the baby became "unhealthy" she changed her mind and purchased abortion pills from Planned Parenthood. She said she took the pills and thought that everything had passed. Some weeks later she passed out at work and was rushed to the ER. They found a viable 18 week pregnancy. She then decided to get a surgical abortion. She was emotional when she was explaining it and also had a hard time talking through options. As we discussed her story, she kept saying "oh this hits a nerve."
