"No One Told Me." I'm not okay

A client came in undecided about what to do with her current pregnancy. As we discussed the potential risks of the abortion pill—particularly the risk of seeing fetal parts expelled—she shared that happened to her during her last abortion. It was a medical abortion (abortion pill) through a local clinic. She was at home, alone when she passed the baby and shared that no one ever told her that she would see fetal parts. Her partner said this part was hard on him because she was home alone and called him when she saw the fetus. She said at that point she felt really bad about it but knew it was too late to go back.
